Not long ago...I received an email from a friend asking to trust my own intuitions. I did not realised how important to listen to our own intuition until one night, while I was lying down and thinking about my past. At that moment, I realised that every time when something happened, I actually heard a voice within me, telling me what to do. I never paid attention nor listen to it, not even one time. I thought to myself, if I listen to it, I would have avoided many heartaches and problems too. However, it was a past.
Recently, I finished reading another book about Intuition by Shakti Gawain and got an understanding that intuition is a form of unconcious knowledge. So, I made a conclusion to myself that animals live by their instinct and we, human beings, besides having instinct, we have intuition which gives us a broader spectrum of information. I think it comes from our subconcious mind.
I also heard that Intuition is called a hunch, gut feelings, a gut response or even luck. It is a function of the right hemisphere of the brain involving extra-sensory perception (ESP), but much more; it functions on the physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual levels. How many people believe in ESP? Of course, each person experiences intuition differently. There may be physical sensations, such as tingling of the skin or a feeling of laden weights in the stomach; or inner voices (Clairvoyance); seemingly explicable attractions to newly met people; inspirational solutions to problems; feelings of closeness to God or the Divine Force; mental imagery; or clue from the environment that alter personal plans. How true is this? How many people has experience this before and do they ever make any decisions base on their intuition? Do you ever experience of having Intuition that something would happen before it happens? I did before. I even dreamed of a situation before I encounter that actual situation. This really surprised me. I have never thought of Intuition things before but I knew that it happened to me. It is my life experience.
Everyone possesses intuition, though some are more highly developed than others. Intuition can be increased, once a person recognizes or aware of it within him or herself and strives to improve it. The individual does this by paying closer attention to whole-body responses to information, people, and situations; by relaxing both the body and mind through diet, exercise, yoga, meditation, and prayer. Though, I think by meditating, it helps to develop our intuition, a lot.
I think Intuition has got something to do in mysticism too. It is thought to be vital in perceiving direct and immediate truth of the most intimate secrets of life. Through deep meditation and contemplation, mystics experience intuitive flashes in which they perceive the ineffable nature of the cosmos the Divine Force, the soul, and the unity of everything. So, what do you say? What is your point of view?
The next thing I am going to learn, is learn to Listen.

hEy esther jieh jieh,
I suppose the whole intuition philosophy applies to testaking as well? For that would be the broadest encounter with intuition I will ever experience. It is the feeling that the answer is 'A' on a multiple choice question, even when I am unsure of the information involved.
And when I ignore this feeling (due to uncertainty? due to distrust?), the result is almost always a question marked incorrect. How come we human beings do not always follow our intuition? Is our intuition ever wrong? (Just questions for you to consider.)
Sincerely,
